I am currently the Chief Information Officer at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. WSU's campus is a rich and diverse urban environment. I have a wonderful team in Computing and Information Technology, and together we are helping drive WSU forward in its urban higher education mission.
Prior to joining Wayne State University, I was the Chief Information Officer of the University of Toledo. In a unique and highly publicized event, the University merged with the Medical University of Ohio on July 1, 2006. So in addition to leading the Information Technology division of a research extensive institution of higher learning, I was given the opportunity to also lead IT for the University of Toledo Medical Center hospital and clinics. It was a very busy time for my fantastic team: merging IT organizations, integrating systems, working on a "big bang" ERP project, and starting a tranformational Digital Campus/Digital Hospital initiative.
I have always been blessed to work with wonderful people, which helps make challenging IT work enjoyable and fulfilling. In addition to my work, I am a graduate student in the College of Education's Educational Technologies program. I have studied under excellent faculty, and the work continues.I have been a resident of the midwestern United States all my life, and believe I have inherited the best cultural values of this area from my parents and the region: a solid work ethic, a strong sense of family and community, and appreciation for all the beauty of the Great Lakes and the dramatic changes of season.
I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks for visiting.
